Program Overview

Enhanced monitoring is an intensive custom program designed to match the specific needs of a participant whose abstinence and/or recovery has destabilized. This may be the result of a relapse or use of contraindicated substances, and it may also be the result of notable and concerning changes in behaviour.

This program may include an increase in sessions with a monitor, increased mutual support group meeting attendance and/or engagement in the recovery community, increased biological testing as well as any other recommendations based on the individual circumstances of the participant.

Biological Testing Protocols

Alliance facilitates multiple substance testing protocols including:

• Urinalysis including EtG, EtS and PEth testing
• Oral fluid testing
• Hair Analysis
• Breath testing including Soberlink

Samples are collected following Chain of Custody collection procedures.

Positive results are verified through GC/MS testing at a medical laboratory and undergo medical review with a certified Medical Review Officer prior to being reported. A test result is not considered positive until it has been confirmed through GC/MS testing.

Alliance facilitates standard testing panels which include illicit substances as well as commonly abused prescribed medications.

Alliance is able to facilitate testing for most of the less common substances of abuse, both over-the-counter and prescribed, as well as steroids and less common illicit substances.
